The Night of the Krampus in Cavalese

The Night of the Krampus in Cavalese is the official free-admission event that opens the winter season in Val di Fiemme, bringing to life one of the most evocative and ancient Alpine traditions. The highlight of the event is the spectacular parade through the streets of the historic centre, where more than 250 performers from Trentino and South Tyrol take part in a fully secured route protected by barriers.

Dressed in heavy goat-fur costumes, chains and monstrous wooden masks, the Krampus bring the evening to life with whip cracks, pyrotechnic displays, smoke effects and infernal floats, all accompanied by the rhythmic, primal din of hooves, horns and heavy cowbells.
