The cycle path of the Adige Valley with its 98 km from north to south is the longest bike path in Trentino and connects the provinces of Bolzano and Verona along the Adige river.
The path is basically flat (the total height difference is about 100mt) and it is always protected from traffic. It alternates country roads cultivated with orchards or vineyards with disused bank roads.
The cycle path starts in Bolzano in the territory of the homonymous province. After a few chilometers it is already possible to make a small detour to visit the fascinating Lake Caldaro. Further south, the route passes through Salorno, Mezzocorona and San Michele, where you can discover the vineyards of the Rotaliana plain.
Continuing along the river you will reach the city of Trento: a must for your holidays! The historic center with the Duomo, the Buonconsiglio Castle, the MUSE - the Science Museum of the city - are just some of its beauties.
After leaving Trento, the city of the Council, the cycle path runs alongside the town of Besenello and its medieval Castel Beseno and then crosses the bicigrill of Nomi for a break and it finally reaches the city of Rovereto (the historic center and the Mart museum are extremely interesting). After Rovereto you can turn towards west and reach the city of Torbole on Lake Garda after a short uphill stretch with a vertical drop of about 150 m.
