Val di Fumo
Pristine landscapes of crystal-clear waters, shady woods and lush meadows
A place of clouds and mysteries, this is the origin of the name "Fumo" (Smoke) of this spectacular Trentino valley, on the border with Lombardy. It is a valley of glacial origin located at the foot of the Carè Alto, hosts the sources of the Chiese river and a welcoming refuge, next to the malga where butter and cheese are produced. The refuge is an excellent starting point for excursions in the Adamello group, to the places of the White War.
The Val di Fumo is the upper section of the Valle di Daone, which is popular for mushrooms, flowers, animals, but also for the numerous mountain huts and the famous waterfalls, even those frozen in winter, which make it a privileged destination for ice climbing.
The Val di Fumo is also particularly popular with children: horses, cows, donkeys and goats are the backdrop to a nature that in itself recalls contemplation and the spirit of infinity. Once at the top you can taste some local dishes in the refuge or have a packed lunch and rest before returning.
