The Muse - The new Science Museum in Trento

A Museum for the Third Millennium

The Science Museum of Trento, the MUSE, was inaugurated in 2013 in the modern Le Albere district, an area developed from a disused industrial area.

The structure, with six floors and a tropical greenhouse for a total of about 12,600 square meters, was built following the principles of eco-sustainability by the famous Italian architect Renzo Piano.

The MUSE develops vertically. On the various floors it displays the variety of terrestrial habitats, starting from the mountain at the top down to sea level where there is a large greenhouse that reproduces the African tropical forest and the most relevant dinosaur exposure in the Alps.

The visitor will be able to understand the consequences of climate change and gather notions of science and technology in a clear and simple way also thanks to the use of captions, audiovisual equipment and superb special effects. The experience, which combines teaching with fun, is particularly suitable for families, whose children will have large dedicated spaces at their disposal. These include a workshop-laboratory, installations with scientific experiments and the "Maxi Ooh!", a space for living real, virtual and sensorial experiences.
