The Castle of Sabbionara d'Avio is an ancient castle belonging to FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) that welcomes you to Trentino for a holiday dedicated to the discovery of the past with your family. Among the vineyards of Sabbionara d'Avio, the frescoes of the castle tell of love, but also stories of war and episodes of battles.
The Castello di Avio is one of the most famous, ancient and charming fortified monuments of Trentino: it features both a majestic set of towers and crenellated walls in a fortress complex built for strategic control of the Adige valley, but also a lush garden inside the castle itself.
From its position the castle you can view the valley almost to Verona. Inside, you will be enchanted by the splendid cycles of Veronese school frescoes and elegant decorations in the tower.
Play paths were designed to discover the history, characters and architecture of the Castle in an engaging way for the kids too. The routes are often enriched by animations, shows and workshops.
